GoalPop - Origin Story
When I was losing weight a few years ago, I found myself increasingly drawn to tracking detailed statistics. I wanted to know exactly how much weight I had lost overall, what progress I made just in the past week, how that averaged out over time, and where I might realistically be in six weeks or so.
The information that kept me most motivated was this large, predictive spreadsheet I created myself. It carefully tracked all these small milestones along the way. Instead of feeling like I was months away from my goal weight, I could see I was only a day or two away from reaching my next Micro Goal (almost the name I had in mind for the app!).
I always thought someone would create an app like this because it seemed like such an obvious tool to have. However, when I couldn’t find one that matched exactly what I envisioned, I decided to build one myself.
